One of the greatest accomplishments for a sculptor is to have a monumental-size work installed in a public venue, so the responsibility of a public installation made a huge impact on me while I work. There is legacy involved in the permanence of an epic piece that gives the work a special meaning.
Coolin’ the Dogs and Dusty have been installed in private collections and in public venues in Castle Rock, Colorado and Fountain Hills, Arizona. Coolin’ looks best incorporated into a fountain so that Gus is actually resting his foot in a pool of water and Dusty is about to take a drink.
If life-size versions are too large for your property, I have a half life-size version of Coolin’ as well.
