Good Day Gone Bad - Limited Time Only

Good Day Gone Bad - Limited Time Only - 23"h x 15"w x 13"d

Every year at the Calgary Stampede Rodeo, daring cowboys risk their necks to prevail over horses in their wildest state. I’ve created a special sculpture, Good Day Gone Bad to commemorate these brave and crazy men.

This sculpture will only be available for sale until the end of the Stampede on July 13, 2009. After that, the mold will be retired forever.

Good Day depicts a wrangler and mustang struggling in the perennial battle between man and beast. Notice how the horse is staring the cowboy right in the eye with complete defiance. If you have ever seen this look you will remember it!

The image was inspired by an experience I had in high school. In Minnesota, where I grew up, horses were boarded all winter. Come springtime, they were wild. I watched a fellow I knew try to take possession of a horse he had purchased…but the animal wasn’t having any of it. He slammed the poor guy into a pole! I guess I might do the same if I were in that horse’s shoes!

The price of Good Day Gone Bad is $3,700 plus shipping. You can order Good Day until midnight, July 12, 2009*. by calling me at 720-312-4498 or at my booth at the Calgary Stampede Western Art Showcase.

*If you miss your chance this year, I will be saving the last numbered piece from this edition for the juried auction at the 2010 Stampede. The piece will have a minimum price reserve of $3,850.
